The Sunday Slice 1.4

The Sunday Slice

The Red Umbrella Edition

If you stopped in or drove by CEF this weekend, you might have seen the bright red umbrellas shading our outdoor area. It's the perfect place to pass the summer day with a lovely beverage and snack. Tomorrow we're open at 4:00, and the sun doesn't set until 8:29. Talk about a window of opportunity! We hope to see you through our big front window soon. Until then enjoy this edition of The Sunday Slice.

We tapped 1840 Brewery SEAFOAM Saturday to many a patron's delight! You can also enjoy this highly sought after naturally soured oat cream ale brewed with pineapple, passion fruit, blue spirulina, and lactose - until it is out. Be sure to drop in soon so you don't miss it!

We welcome Gathering Place Brewing to our tapper for the first time with The Fur Trader. They wrote about it so eloquently, I have decided to let them speak for themselves. The Fur Trader is the meeting point between Saison, Biere de Garde, and Helles Bach and is as unique and colorful as its namesake, Milwaukee founder Solomon Juneau. Biscuity and honey maltiness are bridged at odd angles by a moderate bitterness with peppery and citrus hop notes. I love a brewery that values good beer and just the right adjective!

Enlightened Brewery has also made their CEF debut this week with their Mr. Bradford shift beer. At 3.8% ABV, it almost takes you by the hand and sets you down under our red umbrellas. The name comes from the type of beer the breweries would offer their workers after their shift was done. I think that sounds like the perfect thing for you to do after a shift or two this week.

Our neighbors at Vennture Brew Company round out our taps with V. Nice - and is it ever!

They brewed up a Rye Saison with Lemon, Basil, and Black Peppercorn - 7.3% ABV.

August 22nd at 7:00 will be our first crowd-sourced wine tasting at CEF. The evening will include learning about and tasting 8 different wines along with a preview of some new snacks! The cost will be $45.00 per person. Because there are only 14 seats available for this event, reservations will be limited to two per party. That way you get to meet some new friends to talk smart with. Stop in to sign up starting July 22nd.

So we have gathered a few business cards from you wonderful people, and thought it might be fun to see if you can match up the name with the business card info. Good luck!
