The Sunday Slice
The Labor Day Edition
Bonjour, Charles here...
In your country, this thing you call Labor Day is odd. You celebrate American labor by not working, you say farewell to summer despite many more lovely days ahead, and you barbeque anything in sight. So, I guess I will ask you to enjoy the last brats and burgers of the summer of 2019, but don’t work too hard at it, for tomorrow we labor.
But first, enjoy this week’s Slice.
New Fall Wines
Many thanks to our wine tasters for their assistance in identifying 3 new wines we will be adding to our menu beginning Sept. 5th
If you are interested in the next wine tasting, stay tuned for a late November date.

Star Gazing at CEF
Charles E. Fromage was the sight for a true Irish Wake last Friday. The Dugan family said goodbye to their matriarch, Patricia Dugan, in the traditional manner. Family members came from Alaska, California, Arizona, Montana, Minnesota, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Maryland, and Virginia to join their Wisconsin relatives for this celebration of life. Although I cling to my Gaul rituals like a French cheese to its rind, I can understand why my Irish amis choose to honor a family member this way. There is nothing like a party to remember the good times with those you love. Safe travels to all!
The entire staff at Charles E. Fromage would like to welcome Sam Alioto to our tiny little bistro. Currently, Sam is the Community Kitchen Coordinator at the Milwaukee Public Library and works to educate students about eating healthful, affordable and really tasty foods. He has extensive experience in the food service industry, and clearly proved that last Saturday night during his first shift. Way to serve up those Moroccan Spiced Cashews, Sam, and welcome to Fromage.
A Happy 10th Anniversary to Jeremy and Tasha Young. The happy couple stopped in with some friends to start their night of celebration after a surprise renewal of their vows at South Shore Park. The entire staff at CEF was delighted to share part of the evening with them, and wish them many more years of amour.
And YOU of course, if you joined us last week and Charles E. Fromage
