Bon Jour! Charles Here-
After a few days of visitors to my tiny space, I thought it might be fun to keep you abreast of all things Charles. Hang on to you berets - here we go!
VLIET STREET VOTED BEST PLACE TO OPEN CHARLES E. FROMAGE
After an unscientific polling of our entire staff, the results were unanimous! We couldn't have selected a better spot than West Vliet Street to open our little bistro. The neighborhood has rolled out the red carpet to welcome us, and most have used that red carpet on their way to our door. We are so glad we are in walking distance of so many Fromage patrons and look forward to meeting many more! Thanks for your patronage, and for those of you who have been walking past for the last few years wondering, thanks for your patience. We hope it was worth the wait.
BREWERS ARE A GUY'S BEST FRIEND
I concur that a kiss on the hand maybe quite continental, but in my brief dealing with the local brewers, they are definitely Charles' best friend! We would like to send a big MERCI to our new best friends at the following local breweries for their encouragement and assistance as we got the tapper ready for our first ON TAP selections.
Simon and Company up at our neighbors on North Ave. VENNTURE Brewing Co. - How chic to be able to serve a Saison named The Heights. French and neighborhood all in one. BonBON!! So bon, it is gone and replaced with Bandshell Pale Ale. Not only a tasty beer, but an opportunity to support the Washington Park Band Shell because a dollar is donated for every beer you purchase. Vive le arts and pour me another!
Kyle Vetter at 1840 Brewery in the Bay View neighborhood graced us with a Koselig Raw IPA, and that will be followed by his Cashmere Sweater New England IPA. Cashmere. Mmmmmm. Need I say more?
Toni Eichinger at Black Husky Brewing is tres breezy to do business with, and she made it possible for us to serve their Dogfather American Pale Ale for Father's Day weekend. For this week, the Eichinger crew sent over a 6 of Vain IPA. Stop in and give it a try!
